It's been over a year since I took off on my adventure to South Africa, which is a little hard to believe.  It doesn't feel like that long.   (The full South African site is still up and running, everything is under "Archive: South Africa, 2010" in the menu bar.)  This summer was a big one as we moved ourselves to Australia, cat and all.  In addition, I recently announced to my husband that I wanted to volunteer again, this time in China.  Being the great guy he is, he didn't miss a beat in saying I should do it. 

So at some point, I'm planning on heading to the ancient Chinese city of Xi'an.  I'll once again be doing a four week volunteer placement, this time teaching English with rural public schools. 

I was hoping to get there this fall, but finances have determined otherwise.  Turns out it's really hard to move across the globe and save money for a big trip.  Who knew?!  So life has forced me to bump the trip for a while until I can afford it.  However, it WILL happen!  It's just a matter of time...
